Creating a Network of Excellence in the Aerospace Sector

The Italian aerospace supply chain is strengthening in the civil helicopter market thanks to a new agreement between Leonardo S.p.A. and Confindustria Emilia Area Centro. The main objective of this collaboration is to create a network of industrial excellences that can effectively compete in the global aerospace market.

A Unique Opportunity for Italian Companies

Michele Poggipolini, CEO of Poggipolini and delegate for the automotive supply chain for Confindustria Emilia Area Centro, emphasized the importance of this initiative. “It is a unique opportunity for Italian companies to enter a growing market like the aerospace sector,” said Poggipolini.

Support and Collaboration from Leonardo

During an important meeting, Leonardo S.p.A., represented by Piero Rancilio, financial director of the helicopter division, and Giuseppe Corcione, SVP procurement and supply chain, expressed full support for the initiative. “We reaffirm our commitment to accompany individual companies along the path of qualification and certification,” said Corcione. This support includes the transfer of technological skills from large companies to small and medium-sized enterprises, a crucial factor for future expansion in international markets.

The Role of the Emilia-Romagna Region

Vincenzo Colla, regional labor councilor, highlighted the importance of increasingly qualifying the supply chain. “We foresee new calls for certification and accreditation of companies in the aerospace sector,” said Colla, emphasizing the Emilia-Romagna Region’s commitment to supporting this initiative.

Conclusion

Michele Poggipolini concluded the meeting by thanking Confindustria, Leonardo, and Councilor Colla for their support. “For Emilia, it is a unique opportunity: investing and attacking a growing market like the aerospace sector is not science fiction,” he said.
